Designing a connected patient journey for an aesthetic surgery practice
A patient management software project bringing initial enquiries, medical intake, quotations, appointments and follow-up into one coordinated digital journey.
Client: A medical doctor specialising in aesthetic surgery
From first enquiry to coordinated patient care
01Overview
A digital patient journey from first enquiry to follow-up
An aesthetic surgery practice needed a more structured way to manage patient enquiries and the steps that follow them. Conversations could begin through messaging and social channels, while medical information, quotations and appointments required a consistent process and clear responsibilities.
NaviTrends developed a project specification for a progressive web application (PWA) connecting patients, the clinician and the practice manager through a shared workflow, with role-based access and secure handling of sensitive patient information as core requirements.
02The challenge
From fragmented enquiries to a coordinated patient pathway
The practice needed to turn incoming enquiries into complete, reviewable patient files. Collecting forms and supporting documents, reviewing each request, preparing quotations and arranging appointments involved several hand-offs between patients and staff.
The challenge extended beyond the initial consultation: the proposed patient portal also needed to support communication and post-operative follow-up, while keeping medical information protected and accessible only to authorised users.
03Our approach
A patient management PWA built around the care journey
The documented solution organised the patient journey into three connected areas:
Digital patient intake
Design account creation, structured medical questionnaires and secure uploads of relevant photos and documents, so the clinician can review requests in one patient record.
Clinical review and coordination
Define a workflow for clinician review, structured reports, quotations prepared by the practice manager, patient notifications and appointment scheduling.
Patient communication and follow-up
Plan a patient-facing space for quotations, messages and post-operative follow-up, alongside role-based dashboards for the practice team.
04Business value
A clearer foundation for patient and practice coordination
The proposed patient management software brings together the stages that would otherwise sit across messages, documents and separate administrative tools. A connected workflow is intended to give the clinician and practice manager a clearer view of each patient request and its next step.
The project specification also establishes requirements for secure access, patient records and continuity after the procedure. These are the intended benefits of the documented solution; the source does not establish measured outcomes or confirm which modules have been deployed.
