From disconnected workshop tasks to one digital workflow

01Overview

A digital foundation for everyday workshop operations

El Mecano Garage needed a more joined-up way to manage customers, vehicles, repair jobs and the administrative work that surrounds each visit. The brief called for software suited to day-to-day workshop activity rather than a generic business management system.

NaviTrends structured a phased solution centred on a responsive web application, with technician mobility and a scalable multi-workshop service included in the wider product roadmap.

02The challenge

Repair jobs, customer updates and paperwork across separate processes

Workshop staff must coordinate appointments, assign work, keep vehicle histories accessible and prepare invoices. When those activities are managed separately, it becomes harder to see the status of a repair or maintain a consistent record of the customer journey.

The project also needed to account for technicians working away from a desk and for future growth beyond a single workshop, without making the initial release unnecessarily complex.

03Our approach

A phased automotive repair shop software roadmap

The solution design organised the required capabilities into three connected workstreams:

Workshop web application

Plan customer and vehicle records, repair orders, job status, appointments, PDF invoicing and a straightforward operational dashboard.

Technician mobile workflows

Design mobile access to assigned jobs, digital vehicle inspections, photo capture, time tracking and repair status updates.

Scalable workshop platform

Define a later multi-workshop SaaS phase with separated workshop accounts, subscription management and central administration.

04Business value

A clear route towards more coordinated repair operations

The proposed platform creates a practical foundation for managing repair orders, customer and vehicle information, appointments and invoicing in one place. A shared operational view is intended to make it easier for reception staff and technicians to work from consistent information.

By separating the web foundation, technician app and multi-workshop capabilities into phases, NaviTrends established a roadmap that could be assessed and implemented progressively. These are intended business benefits of the documented solution design, not independently verified performance results.
